When I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up,
I knew that I wanted to do something that I loved so much that I couldn’t stop doing it.
“What would be the point to do anything else, if it doesn’t make you happy?”
I remember thinking.
Countless people have tried to convince me to choose a different carreer-path.
They all make very compelling arguements about how I’ll be poor and unsuccesful forever. It’s quite lovely how much they care and want to protect me.
HOWEVER.
There’s one force that’s stronger than these people that keep fueling my already existent crippling self-doubt about my careerchoices ;
the joy I feel whenever I’m creating something new out of thin air.
Weither it’s a video, an illustration, a sketch, a painting or a digital mock up, I will lose all sense of time and space until I am finished.
Sure I can do other things, but eventually I always return to my roots.
Because that’s what I do best. And I like that about myself.
I am a filmmaker, as well as an illustrator, until it no longer gives me joy.
(So I wouldn’t hold my breath.)
